Acton Police have filed for a criminal complaint charging the woman with leaving the scene of a crash causing personal injury, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and a crosswalk violation, Chief Richard Burrows reports.

The crash occurred in the area of Harris Street around 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, as previously reported by Daily Voice. The victim, 13-year-old Cesar Soto, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

A GoFundMe was eventually created on Cesar's behalf to help cover the costs of his medical bills, as also previously reported by Daily Voice. Meanwhile, investigators were eventually able to identity the suspected vehicle and driver involved in the crash after releasing surveillance footage from the incident.

“This has been an intense and lengthy investigation, but we were committed to identifying the driver in this case,” Burrows said. “I want to thank the community and the victim’s family for their patience, and I commend our Acton Police investigators on their diligence and commitment to a difficult case.”

The woman has yet to be identified because the charges have not been officially brought forward, Burrows said. The investigation is ongoing.
